A downloadable game for Windows and macOS

Hyperbole is a 3D, first person, physics based puzzle game with action elements. You shoot an unlimited amount of large rubber balls at a high rate to propel a wooden cube through a Brutalist environment. Shoot buttons, interact with the environment, solve puzzles and win!

There are 13 varied levels, and a cute story to tie it all together!

Do speedruns, or take it slow and go for least amount of balls shot, or go nuts and go for most amount of balls shot, everything is possible with the built-in global leaderboard system!

The current version is a fully playable BETA, offered for free to the itch.io community so I can get feedback, improve the game and hopefully build a bit of a following to help me attract a publisher so I can finish and release it. Let me know what you think can be improved, any bugs you encounter, what works for you and what doesn't, ...

This game has been created by one person, as a spare time project over the last 4 years, with a total budget so far of 150 Euros. The dream is to find a publisher, spend some of their money on improving/finishing it, and then release it on PC (and maybe even console) as a commercial indie game.

Fun game with nice graphics! Very cool how unity still works up to 5000 balls, and the level difficulty is great aswell. If you're going for security through obscurity using http for the scoring system however, it is probably a good idea to put a delimiter between the url parameters ;), but it's a beta so whatever. Great stuff!

Thanks! The scoring system is indeed something I cobbled together quickly and it needs more work...

I've created a windows installer, so no more manually extracting ZIP files, and you now get a handy shortcut to start the game. Future updates will automatically replace the older versions and so on...

A MAC installer DMG is coming in a couple of weeks...

Beta 0.9.12 released!

Check https://nilsdesle.itch.io/hyperbole/devlog/270517/beta-0912-released for details!

More feedback on the last beta:

- The menus get squashed/garbled on wide screens -> will fix

- Mouse and joysticks are always all active. This can have strange issues with e.g. throttles and other devices acting as joysticks. -> will fix

- Using the Shoot button as the advance-dialog button is not intuitive, should add hard-coded Enter and Space keys there as well -> will fix

Again, thanks to everyone playing for your feedback!

Beta 0.9.11 released! Check https://nilsdesle.itch.io/hyperbole/devlog/256835/beta-0911-released for details!

Interesting feedback received so far:

- The player should be able to start moving while the fadeout from white is happening when respawning -> will do

- There need to be graphics settings to change resolution, turn bloom and motion blur on/off -> will do

- Better, prettier scoring tables/boards? -> will think about it :)

Keep 'em coming!

All feedback is welcome here!
